Greece is home to a number of unique and interesting dog breeds. The Hagenhound, a relatively rare breed, is a large, powerful working dog known for its loyalty and intelligence. The Kritikos Lagonikos is a small, agile breed that was once used in the ancient Olympics to help with herding and tracking. The Hellenic Hound is a medium-sized scent hound that is bred for hunting. The Greek Shepherd is a medium-sized breed that is prized for its strength and guarding ability. Lastly, the traditional Greek Sheepdog is a large, heavy-boned breed that is used for herding and protecting livestock. All of these breeds make great companions and are capable of doing a variety of jobs.
