Affen Tzu Physical Characteristics
The Affen Tzu is a small, small- to medium-sized, long-coated breed of affenpinscher developed in Germany. The breed is relatively new; the FCI did not recognize it until 1993 and, although it is not recognized as a national breed by the VDH, it is gaining recognition outside Germany. The Affen is a sturdy, muscular, strongly built, and short coated dog, with a longish head. It resembles a miniature German Shepherd Dog, but with the tail set low or hanging down. The hair on the back and front legs is longer, and the tail is bushy. The eyes of the affenpinscher are almond-shaped, dark in color, and expressive. The ears are medium in size, triangular in shape, and either cropped or uncropped. The fur can be any color, but the most common colors are sable, white with black markings, or solid black. The affenpinscher is an intelligent, lively and friendly, yet independent, companion. They have been bred to be alert watchdogs and as protectors of property.

Affen Tzu Temperament and Behaviour
The Affen Tzu is a cross between the Affenpinscher and the Shih Tzu. They are small dogs with a big personality. They are very playful and lively, but can also be quite stubborn. They are affectionate with their family and friends, but can be suspicious of strangers. They are intelligent dogs and can be easy to train if you are consistent and firm with them. They need daily exercise, but can be content with just a few short walks or play sessions each day. They are generally healthy dogs, but can be prone to some health problems such as respiratory problems, skin allergies, and joint issues.
Affen Tzu Activity Requirements
Affen Tzus are small, fluffy dogs originating from Tibet. They were bred as companions and today they make good pets. These happy, outgoing dogs are easy going and get along well with people and other animals. While Affen Tzus are not particularly demanding when it comes to their activity level, they do require regular exercise. They may be small, but they still require a daily walk or short play session. A fenced yard is ideal for this fun-loving dog. They love to play outside, even when the weather is not ideal. A fenced yard provides a safe place for them to run, play, and explore.
