Banter Bulldogge History
The Banter Bulldogge is a cross between the English bulldog and the purebred American Pit Bull Terrier. The idea for a Bullie Bulldog did not originate in the U.S. The breeding of the Banter Bulldog began in Australia. Around 1998, the breeders of the hybrid realized that a ban would be placed on these crosses. Consequently, the breeder’s concentrated on developing a dog that looked like an English bulldog, but did not have the attitude and temperament of an American pit bull terrier.

Banter Bulldogge Temperament and Behaviour
The Banter Bulldogge is an active, alert, and playful breed. They are friendly and outgoing, but can also be stubborn and headstrong. They are intelligent and quick to learn, but can also be independent and willful. They are fearless and tenacious, but can also be clownish and boisterous. They are loyal and protective, but can also be territorial and aggressive.
Banter Bulldogge Activity Requirements
Banter Bulldogges, or “Banties,” are intelligent, alert, athletic, and energetic dogs that were bred to be watchdogs. They are compact, muscular, and powerful. Because they were bred to be watchdogs and guard dogs, Banties have extremely high energy levels. They need regular, rigorous exercise, both physical and mental. While most Bants are happy just being with their families, many also enjoy participating in dog sports like flyball, rally, and agility. If you are looking for a dog who has lots of energy and needs room to play, a Bantie may be a great choice for your lifestyle. These dogs are highly intelligent, but they can be quite stubborn. Be prepared to work with your Bant on basic commands and housebreaking.
