Basschshund History

The Bassdog, or Basshound, is a hound of the scenthound type. It is closely related to the American Foxhound. The basshounds of today are not related to the old English basses, but are descended from a line of whippet-type hounds developed in England in the late 1800s. The bassets were developed as fox and rabbit-hunting hounds.

Basschshund Temperament and Behaviour

The Basschshund is a very loyal and loving dog breed that is also known for being very protective of its family. This breed is very good with children and is known for being very playful. Basschshunds are also known for being very intelligent and trainable.

Basschshund Activity Requirements

The Basseschund is a medium-sized dog who is confident, intelligent, and alert. They are descendants of European herding dogs and are an excellent companion, both at home and in the field. Most Basseschund owners report their dogs are calm and quiet. They are generally good with children and other pets, and they love to play, especially with children. While Basseschunds are not high-energy, they should be walked every day. Because of their small size, Basseschunds do best in homes with small yards. While they don’t need to be outside all the time, they do need to have regular walks. A home with a fenced yard is also ideal. While a Basseschund doesn’t need a backyard to run, they do need plenty of space indoors. They enjoy their owners and can often be found following them from room to room. If you are looking for a dog that likes to stay close to home, the Basseschund might be a good choice.
