The Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a FCI and UKC registered French scent hound with a short nose. It is a very old, ancient, rare, primitive, and distinctive scent hound. Its ancestors are believed to have lived in the forests of France hundreds of years ago. This breed is used to hunt rabbits, hares and partridges. The most common colours are brown, red, fawn, and white. The ears are long, hanging and pendant. An interesting fact about this hounds is that they can walk underwater.
