Bassetoodle History
The Bassetdoodle is a mixed-breed of basset hound and poodle. The origin of the name “Bassetdoodle” is unknown, but the term may have originated in Australia and New Zealand.
Bassetoodle Physical Characteristics
The Bassetdoodle is a designer breed that resulted from breeding a Basset Hound with a Poodle. There are two different breeds of bassets: the miniature and the standard. The Miniature Basset Poodle Mix usually stands between 14 and 18 inches tall and weighs between 25 and 45 pounds. They are medium-to-large sized dogs with a long, low body and a flat, heavily plumed tail. Their short, thick coat can be red, apricot, cream, white, or black. They have large, upright ears and a shaggy muzzle. The Standard Basset Poodle Mix usually stands between 17 and 22 inches and weighs between 45 and 65 pounds. They are larger dogs with a shorter, stockier body. Their short, thick coat can be any color. They have wide-set eyes and a floppy, wrinkled muzzle.

Bassetoodle Temperament and Behaviour
The Bassetoodle is a mixed breed dog, the offspring of a Basset Hound and a Standard Poodle. These dogs are bred for their hunting abilities, and as a result, they are very independent, determined, and stubborn. However, they are also intelligent, loyal, and affectionate, making them great family dogs. They need a lot of exercise and are best suited for a home with a large yard or access to a park.
Bassetoodle Activity Requirements
Bassetdoodles are a fairly new hybrid dog that is becoming increasingly popular. They are a cross between a purebred English or American Cocker Spaniel and a male or a female Poodle. Because Bassetdoodles are still a fairly new combination, there isn’t a lot of information about their exercise and activity requirements. In general, they are expected to live fairly close to their Poodle parent and, like Poodles, they do not require much additional exercise. They can make very good apartment dogs. If you are thinking of adding a Bassetoodle to your family, be sure to do your research. Talk to other owners, discuss the potential risks with a breeder, and take steps to ensure you are prepared for any potential problems.
