The Beagle Point is a purebred, registered, and recognised member of the Gundog Group. The Beagle is a scent hound, originally developed in Southern England for hare hunting. The beagle has a square build, with a broad skull and large, wide-spaced ears. Its coat is short, flat, and dense. The Beagle is generally a friendly, sociable, and outgoing animal, making it a popular pet and hunter. The breed was originally called the Southern Hound, but the name was changed in 1835 to remove any suggestion of association with the Scottish hounds.
