Black Mouth Pom Cur History

The Black Mouth Cur is an American breed of dog that originated in the southern United States. The ancestors of the Black Mouth Cur are thought to be the Carolina Dog and the Old Spanish Pointer, both working farm dogs. The descendents of the Old Spanish Pointer were crossed with other dogs to produce the all-around farm and ranch working terrier known as the Black and Tan Coonhound, and the Black and Tan Coonhounds were further crossed with the fighting bulldog to create the early American Pit Bull Terrier. The Black and Tan Coonhounds were further crossed with mongrels to produce a new type of black and tan brindle-colored hound, and it was these brindles that were later developed into the modern Black Mouth Cur.

Black Mouth Pom Cur Temperament and Behaviour

The Black Mouthed Pomeranian is a lively, playful and outgoing breed. They are small, cute and fluffy, but they can also be stubborn and willful at times. Black Mouth Pom Cur Activity Requirements

Black Mouth Pom Curs are a relatively rare breed of dog that originated in the United States. This hunting and herding dog is intelligent, loyal, and protective. They are full of energy and can be quite stubborn. While they are not the most active of breeds, they do require regular exercise. They enjoy long walks but can also do well in an apartment or condo. They need about 30 minutes of walking or playing each day. While they shed very little, they do need to have their coats brushed two to four times a week. Their short, rough coat also makes them prone to skin irritations. Daily brushing can help minimize this risk.
