Border Collie Cocker History

The Border Collie Cocker Spaniel or “Cocky” is a mixed-breed dog that was developed by crossing the English Springer Spaniel and the Border Collie. The Cocky is a cross between the English and American Cocker Spaniel and the Border Collie. The Cocky is a mix between the English Cocker and the English Springer Spaniel and a purebred collie, but can also be a “crib-type” (made by mating two sheepdogs). The Cocky can closely resemble either parent, but often has characteristics of both. The Cocky tends to have a short coat, and can either be black or white in color. The cocker spaniel is the more popular of the two types, and is any given litter is more likely to have the spaniel type appearance.
