Boston Huahua History

The Boston Huahua is a recently-created hybrid, or designer, breed of small dog created by a breeder named Glenn Roberts. The Boston Huahua was created in 1985 by combining the Boston Terrier with a Chihuahua.

Boston Huahua Physical Characteristics

The Boston Huahua is an average-sized, medium-haired, small-eyed, long-eared, long-tailed, smooth-coated breed of dog of the Toy group. It originated in the 1970’s from the breeding of Chihuahuas with Beagles, and is considered a designer breed. Its name comes from the two breeds that contributed to its ancestry, the Beagle and the Chihuahua.

Boston Huahua Temperament and Behaviour

The Boston Huahua is a kind, playful, and sociable breed. They are a very loving breed of dog, but are cautious with strangers. They are very intelligent and can learn quickly, making training and socialization easy. They are protective of their families, but are also welcoming of new people.

Boston Huahua Activity Requirements

Boston Huahuas are a very friendly and outgoing small dog. They are very sociable and love to be around people. They get along well with children and other pets. Due to their small size, the Boston Huahua does not typically require a lot of physical exercise. However, they do need some form of mental stimulation. A puzzle toy or a game of hide and seek can help. Being so friendly, the Boston Huahua makes a wonderful companion animal. They are a good choice for any home. They are active and outgoing, but can also be calm and relaxed.
