Boston Malterrier History
The Boston Terrier, known also as the American Bull Terrier or the American Bulldog, is a breed of small, sturdy, muscular, short-coated dog. It originated in the 19th Century as a fighting and baiting dog and is now a popular family pet. It is the state animal of Massachusetts. The use of the word “Bull” in the name comes from its resemblance to various bull-baiting breeds. The reconception of the Boston as a larger, non-fighting version of the English Bulldog was promoted by the show ring. The Kennel Club accepted the Boston as a full-fledged breed in 1893. It is sometimes confused with the Manchester Terrier.

Boston Malterrier Temperament and Behaviour
The Boston Terrier is a clever, playful, and protective breed of dog. They are known to be courageous and confident, but are also friendly and gentle. They are generally quiet and can be well-behaved, but they are also overactive at times. They should be trained to be well mannered and socialized from a very young age.
Boston Malterrier Activity Requirements
Boston Terriers are small but spunky, energetic, and fun-loving. They are well-suited to apartment living, but they do require regular exercise. While morning walks are a good way to start off the day, your Boston Terrier may also enjoy a game of fetch or some time outside. While Boston Terriers are not high-energy, they do need to have regular mental and physical stimulation. A bored or sedentary dog may act out by barking or chewing. If you decide to bring a Boston Terrier into your home, be sure to provide them with lots of attention and plenty of activity. They are happiest in homes where they get lots of love, and this is only possible if you are prepared to meet their exercise and socialization needs.
