Brusselranian History
The Brussels griffon is a toy spaniel-type dog. It is a mascot and lapdog, as well as a watchdog. The “Brussels Griffon” name is also applied to other dogs, but these are not truly Griffon-type dogs. This confusion stems from the popularity of the Brussels griffon in the 19th century, when many breeders produced a type of griffon resembling those from Brussels, Belgium. The Brussels griffon gets its name from the region of Belgium where they were formerly bred. Breed standards require the dogs to have fluffy, feathered ears, which are twisted and stand up, and long silky coats. The fur on the ears can be colored any color except white. The coat can be any solid color, or a combination of colors. The tail of the Brussels griffon is docked, just like the tail of its ancestors, the hounds.

Brusselranian Activity Requirements
The Brussels Griffon is a small, compact dog that is known for its intelligence, affection, and independence. A Brussels Griffon can be an excellent companion for the right person, but they are best suited to people who are confident and experienced with training. While they don’t require a great deal of physical exercise, Brussels Griffons do need regular interaction with people. Unlike some breeds, they are not happy just sitting around. They also shouldn’t be left alone for long periods of time. If you are considering a Brussels Griffon, be sure you are able to meet their learning, training, and interaction needs. They can make a wonderful pet for the right person, but they can also be willful and stubborn.
