Bullmasador History
The Bullmastiff is a medium to large-sized, muscular, broad-chested bull-baiting, guard, and family dog that was originally developed in England. The Bullmastiff descends from a combination of several ancient English Bulldog and mastiff-type breeds. The origin of the name is debated. Some believe it is derived from the Old English words bull and mast, referring to their common use as bullbaiting dogs. Another theory, which is supported by many scholars, is that they were named for the Staffordshire town of “Bully”, from which many of their ancestors came.
