Cairnoodle History
The Cairnoodle is a hybrid or designer cross-breed between an Australian Cattle Dog and a Miniature or Standard American or English Cocker Spaniel. The origins of the Cairnoodle are unclear. The name is a recent development, but the dog itself is much older. The origin of the name “Cairn” is unknown. The “doodle” part of the name probably refers to the fact that the dogs are a “cross-breed”.

The Cairnoodle is typically a fun-loving, playful and energetic hybrid. They are extremely smart and are easy to train, but can sometimes be headstrong and stubborn. They have a strong hunting instinct, so it is important to make sure that they do not run off or get lost while chasing after small animals.
Cairnoodle Activity Requirements
The Cairnoodle is an energetic crossbreed, combining the friendliness of a Labrador with the intelligence and energy of a Poodle. They make excellent pets for families, as they love to play and be around people. While they don’t require as much vigorous activity as some other breeds, the Cairnoodle does require regular exercise. They are best suited for homes with yards where they can run around and play.
