The breed has a brindle colored, block-shaped head with a rectangular muzzle, large, erect ears, and a bushy tail. The hind legs are longer than the front legs. The eyes are usually dark brown or hazel. The animal has webbed feet, and the tail is carried low when the dog is at rest.
