Cocker Griffon History
The Cocker Spaniel and the English Springer Spaniel were both introduced into France in the 1700s, and from there the Italian Spinone was interbred with one or both native spaniels. This resulted in a taller, heavier, more rugged-looking, and more energetic version of the English springer spaniel, retaining the friendly, affectionate temperament of the spaniel. Cocker Griffon Temperament and Behaviour
The Cocker Griffon is loving, devoted, and devoted to their humans. They are intelligent and easy to train, often enjoying tricks and other advanced commands. They are gentle and protective with their family members, but should be supervised around children, strangers and other small animals.
Cocker Griffon Activity Requirements
The Cocker is a fun-loving, mischievous dog that loves to play. They are often described as “clownish” due to their playful, cheeky behavior. For this reason, they do not make the best watch dogs, but they are wonderful companions. Most Cockers will do well with a variety of activities and sports, but their love of play means that they do best with a playful, active owner. They are an especially good match for families with children, as they tend to be gentle and affectionate. Although they require a fair amount of exercise and stimulation, many Cockers do quite well living in an apartment. A daily walk should keep them happy, but they love to play with toys, too.
