Combai History
The Combai, also known as the Coton de Tulear, is a hypoallergenic breed of lap dog from Madagascar. The Combai is a naturally occurring hybrid between an ancestor of the present-day Bichon Frise and a portion of the now-extinct St. Vincent Spaniel. The Combai is a medium-to-large sized, low-shedding, non-allergenic, and curly coated, wrinkly-faced member of the Bichon family. The Combai is believed to have first been domesticated in Madagascar. It remained relatively unchanged throughout the centuries until the second half of the 20th Century, when the dog was first introduced to Western Europe and North America. The Combai is bred in small numbers today, but its popularity is expected to rise in the future. The popularity of the Coton de Tulear is expected to increase even further once a genome project for this rare and unique species is completed.

Combai Temperament and Behaviour
The Combai is a small, short-haired, and hairless breed of dog that originated in Portugal. They are a highly intelligent, gentle, and protective breed of dog that makes a great pet. They are kind, patient, and sometimes quiet.
Combai Activity Requirements
The Combai is a designer dog created by crossing a Cocker Spaniel with a Bichon Frise. Both parent breeds are fairly low energy, so their crosses tend to also be low- to moderate-energy. The Combai enjoys a daily walk or some play time. While they don’t need a ton of physical exercise, they do need an outlet for their energy. A brisk walk around the block or a game of tug-of-war can be a great way to let your Combai burn off some energy. A Combai can be a good choice for a family that doesn’t have a lot of time or space to devote to exercise. This dog tends to fit well in households where one person stays home during the day.
