Enga-Apso History
The Enga Apso, also known as New Guinea Singing Dog, is a breed of small, short haired, non-sporting, type of toy poodle.The name “Enga Apso” is an acronym of “English and Apso”, as the Apso is a strain of toy poodle. The coat can be any color, other than merle (which is considered a disqualification in the show ring), though black, brown, and white are most common. The head is wedge-shaped and medium in length. The nose is black, and the eyes are dark in color. The ears are set high and are usually erect when the dog is alert. The tail is docked to approximately 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches (9 to 11.4 cm). Males are generally larger than females.

The Enga-Apso is confident, independent, and self-assured, but they are also very friendly, gentle, and eager to please. They are generally tolerant of other household pets, but may try to chase or herd them. They are highly playful and fun-loving, but are also calm and laid-back.

The Enga-Apso is a sweet, gentle, and loyal little dog that makes a great pet. They are intelligent and affectionate, and they love to be with their families. Enga-Apsos are also known for being extremely watchful, making them excellent watchdogs. Although they are an active, small dog, an Enga-Apso does not need a lot of physical exercise. They are better suited to a home with a peaceful environment where they can be close to their families. A long walk on leash or a short play session in the yard is enough to keep an Enga satisfied.
