English Borsetter Collie History
The English Borsetshire Collie is a cross between the Old English Sheepdog and the Border Collie. The Old English Sheepdog (OES) is a breed of herding and farm dogs that originated in the United Kingdom. The OES is one of four types of Border Collie, and is recognized by the Kennel Club as its own separate type of the Border Collie. The OES is one of several varieties of the generic term “Sheepdog”, which refers to several types of working and herding dogs. The OES is distinct from the “Border” or “Scotch” Shepherd, a type native to Scotland. The OES and the Scotch Shepherd are thought to have descended from the same ancestral stock, but the OES and the modern Border Collie must have evolved separately, as neither closely resemble the other.

English Borsetter Collie Temperament and Behaviour
The English Borsetter Collie is an energetic, determined, and fun-loving dog. They are very intelligent and are easily distracted by new sights or sounds, so it is important to keep them occupied with training and exercise. They are often described as stubborn, so proper training is necessary. They are loyal to their families and are great with children of all ages and other household animals.
English Borsetter Collie Activity Requirements
The Border Collie is a high-energy, intelligent, and hard-working dog. They were originally bred to herd and work sheep, but today they are primarily companion dogs and compete in many dog sports such as agility and flyball. Due to their high energy levels, Border Collies do best with an active family. They are ideal for families who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and biking. A fenced-in yard is also important for this high-energy, driven, and bouncy breed.
