English Cocker Spaniel Temperament and Behaviour
The English Cocker Spaniel is an energetic, playful, and sociable breed of dog. They are intelligent and athletic, and excel at many different types of activities such as hunting, agility, and retrieving. English Cocker Spaniels love spending time with their owners, and are very gentle and affectionate. They are gentle and tolerant with young children, but may be too rambunctious for small children.
English Cocker Spaniel Activity Requirements
English Cocker Spaniels are small, cheerful, and happy-go-lucky breeds that are known for their long, silky coats and floppy ears. They are fairly low energy and need about an hour of exercise each day. While they aren’t super high energy, they aren’t content to be couch potatoes. They are happiest when they have some one-on-one time with their owner. Daily walks or time spent playing in the yard is a great way to keep an English Cocker Spaniel happy. While they can live in a variety of home environments, they do best in homes with owners who have an active lifestyle. A family that likes to take afternoon strolls or enjoys being outside will be a good match for this friendly, outgoing breed.
