English Spanador History

The English Spanador is a cross between the English Springer Spaniel and the Standard Schnauzer. The English Springer Spaniel and the Standard Schnauzer are both well-established purebred dog breeds that originated in Great Britain. The Oxford Dictionary credits the etymologist James Murray as the creator of the term “Spaniel”. The Standard Schnauzer is a medium-sized working sheepdog that was originally developed in the mid-1800s in Bavaria, Germany. It shares common ancestry with the Pinscher, which includes Bulldogs, Terriers and, more surprisingly, the Lhasa Apso. The Standard Schnauzer was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1913, and was the 112th AKC-recognized breed. The Springer Spaniel, also known as the English Springer, is a breed of gundog. The Springer spaniel is one of the most popular sporting dogs in the world, and is often used in field trials, competitive obedience, agility, tracking, herding, and search and rescue. The origin of the modern spaniel is up for debate, but the most commonly accepted theory traces them back to Spain.
