German Spaniel History
The German Spaniel is a breed of a medium-sized gundog that originated in southern Germany. Today, the German Spaniel is quite rare, with only about 300 puppies registered each year by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale, or World Canine Organization. The breed was originally used for hunting and retrieving, but in the 20th century it gradually became primarily a family pet.
