Giant Wauzer Physical Characteristics

The Giant Wauzer is a medium- to large-sized, plain- coated, tall-skulled, and muscular working breed that originated in Germany. They are known for their intelligence and agility. The males are typically 22 to 24 inches at the withers and weigh between 80 and 100 lbs. The females typically stand between 21 and 23 inches at the withers and weigh between 60 and 80 lbs. They have long, strong legs and feet. The Giant Wauzer has a rectangular head with a straight or slightly curved muzzle. Their nose is layered and black in color. The hard, prick ears are erect. The tail is typically docked at birth. The thick, double coat is gold, red, or black in color. The hair on the skull, front legs, and back of the neck is short. The hair on the hind legs, belly, and hair is long and silky. The coat is shed twice a year.
