Golden Akita Retriever History
The Golden Akita Retriever, sometimes simply called the Gold-Akita or Golden Akita, is a mixed-breed dog that is the result of breeding an Akita Inu with a Golden Retriever. The hybrid is considered a first generation mix and does not have the attributes of both the Inu and the Golden. The ancestry of the golden Akita is a mystery. The “golden” (yellow) colouring is inherited from the Golden Retriever, while the “Akita” (red) colour is inherited by the Inu. The “Golden” in the name refers to the coat, not the golden-coloured eyes, which are shared by both parent breeds.

The Golden Akita is a calm, patient, and friendly breed. They are friendly and laid-back, and are great with people and children of all ages. They love to play, but are also content to relax at home. They are intelligent and easy to train, and respond well to positive reinforcement and praise.
Golden Akita Retriever Activity Requirements
The Golden Akita is a fairly new hybrid dog that is growing in popularity. These dogs are a combination of the Akita and Siberian Husky. While their exact origins are unclear, they are believed to be the result of an unplanned mating. While the Golden Akita is active and athletic, they are more mellow than their parent breeds. These dogs have a moderate energy level and will do well with walks or short jogs. If you are considering a Golden Akita, make sure you are prepared to meet their moderate activity needs. These dogs are better suited for short walks or runs than for lengthy hikes or runs. They are still very active dogs and do require regular exercise.
