Golden Cavalier History
The Golden Cavalier is one of the newer hybrid, or designer, breeds that were created by crossing the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a Golden Retriever. The Golden Retriever is a medium to large-sized breed of dog that was originally developed as a retrieving gundog to retrieve downed fowl. The Golden Retriever is descended from the Retriever bloodline, which can be traced back to the ancient Pointer and Bloodhound. The Golden Retriever is a medium-sized, short-coated, square-proportioned dog that is extremely intelligent and easy to train. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a toy spaniel that was developed in England in the 18th century. The Cavalier is a sweet, affectionate, loyal, and intelligent little dog. The Cavalier is a well-rounded little lapdog that is as happy playing in the yard as it is curled up on the couch. The Cavalier is a gentle and easy going little dog, and makes a great family pet.

Golden Cavalier Activity Requirements
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a sweet, loving, and playful dog. They are happy, affectionate, and get along well with children. Cavaliers have also been known to get along with other house pets, making them a great choice for households with cats or other small companion animals. While they are not very high energy, Cavaliers do require regular exercise. They are better suited to homes with yards where they can play. A daily walk or short play session will tire them out and provide them with the mental and physical stimulation they need. If you are looking for a laid-back, low key pet, a Cavalier might be the right choice for you. This affectionate and playful breed is happiest when they have someone to snuggle up to and spend the day with.
