Golden Newfie Temperament and Behaviour
The Golden Newfoundland is a medium-sized, well-mannered, gentle, and devoted dog breed. They are extremely patient and gentle, which make them wonderful companions. They are very friendly with their family members and are often protective of them. Although they are very gentle and well-behaved, they are also brave and courageous. This makes them good working dogs and they are often used as rescue and therapy dogs.
Golden Newfie Activity Requirements
The Golden Newfie is a relatively new mix between a Newfoundland and a golden retriever. These large, sweet dogs are friendly, intelligent, and loyal. They are very loving and do well with children of all ages. While they are not very high-energy, Golden Newfies do require regular exercise. They benefit from a long brisk walk every day, as well as plenty of opportunities to run and chase. While they are not particularly playful, they do enjoy playing outside. While the Golden Newfie is a great pet for families with children, they are not well-suited to very active households. They are generally calm and easy-going, but they can be nervous and anxious when left alone.
