The ancestors of the Great Cambrian Shepherd were most likely a mix of the Bearded Collie, the Old English Sheepdog, the Border Collie, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, the Shetland Sheepdog, and the Icelandic Sheepdog. The Great Cambrian Shepherd is relatively new. Although its exact origin is unknown, it is believed to have evolved from the Bearded Collie, the Old English Sheepdog, the Border Collie, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, the Shetland Sheepdog, and the Icelandic Sheepdog.
