The Hygenhund is a fairly new hybrid, or designer, breed of dog that was created in the 1990s by mating a Havanese with a Bichon Frise. The Havanese is a toy-sized, highly sociable, semi-fluffy, white, curly-haired, Cuban Spaniel. The Bichon Frise is a toy-sized, fluffy, white, curly-haired, water spaniel. The Hygen Hund is a cross that was made in the early 1990s by crossing a Havanese with a Bichon Frise.
