The Hygenhund is a fairly new hybrid, or designer, breed of dog that was created in the 1990s by mating a Havanese with a Bichon Frise. The Havanese is a toy-sized, highly sociable, semi-fluffy, white, curly-haired, Cuban Spaniel. The Bichon Frise is a toy-sized, fluffy, white, curly-haired, water spaniel. The Hygen Hund is a cross that was made in the early 1990s by crossing a Havanese with a Bichon Frise. The Hygenhund is a designer breed that was developed from a cross between a Beagle and a German Shorthaired Pointer. It is a medium-sized, long-legged and energetic dog that tends to stand between 13 and 15 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between 18 and 25 pounds. It has a short, smooth coat with a fluff tail. Its ears are floppy, its eyes are usually blue, and it is high-spirited and fun-loving.
