The Italian Greyhound is a toy-sized, short-legged sighthound with a distinctive grey coat and pointed ears. It is closely related to the Whippet, and is sometimes confused with it. It is a member of the Sighthound family of dogs and is the second-smallest of the three varieties of the Italian Greyhound, behind the Pug. The standard accepted height at the withers for males is 38.5 inches, and for females is 35.5 inches. Weight ranges between 10 and 16 pounds, making the Italian Greyhound one of the lightest members of the Hound Group.
