The Jagdterrier is a medium-size scent hound of German origin. The Jagdterrier is a medium-sized scenthound from Germany that was originally developed to hunt big game. The origin of this versatile hunter is debatable. Some claim it derives from the Italian Greyhound, while others say it was a cross-breed between the Beagle, Wolfspitz and the Italian Greyhound. It is thought the Jagdterrier may have originated in the South Eastern part of Germany. The Jagdterrier was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1936.
