Karakachan History
The Karakachan is a sheepdog native to Kazakhstan. This ancient and primitive-looking sighthound is probably descended from the Ancient Egyptian hound. The Karakachan is the national mascot of Kazakhstan. The Karakachan was originally used to hunt gazelles. It has also been used for herding sheep, and for guarding and chasing wolves.
