Labradane History

The Labradoodles (also commonly known as “Labradoodle” or “Labrador-Labrador”) is a mix between a Labrador Retriever and a Standard Poodle. The origins of this hybrid are controversial. Some breeders believe that the first breeding took place in Australia in the 1970s, while others credit a cross-breeding from 1989 and claim that it occurred in Canada. The origin of the name “Labradoodles” is unknown, and is likely a portmanteau of the words “Labradors” and “Poodle”. The Labradoodles is a medium-sized, low-shedding, intelligent, and loyal family dog. The coat of the Labradoodle comes in a variety of colors including black, red, silver, cream, chocolate, and apricot. The wavy and curly coats of the poodle may shed less, but the smooth coat sheds more and tends to mat more easily.
