The Marchi is a small, medium-to-large sized breed of spitz-type herding dogs. The breed was developed in 1950 in the Malchyornyi District of Kiev Oblast, Ukraine, by crossing the Pomeranian Shepherd Dog with the Italian Spitz. The first specimens were registered with the governing body in 1951. [1]
