Miniature French Bull Terrier History
The Miniature French Bull Terrier (also known as the “Frenchie”) is a toy-sized, muscular, short-haired, bright and intelligent terrier. The FCI recognizes two sizes – Standard and Petit-Breton. The Standard type has been recognized by the FCI since 1935, while the Petit-Breton Type was recognized in 1958. The origin of the modern French Bulldog is unknown. The breed may have come from China or Japan, but the earliest known record of the French Bulldog is from 1635. The first standard for the breed was published in 1835, but it was not until 1863 that the Kennel Club granted the French Bulldog full recognition.
Miniature French Bull Terrier Physical Characteristics
The Miniature French Bull Terrier is a small, medium-sized, lithe, muscular, and well-muscled terrier with a squarish head, flat skull, and erect ears. They have a long, narrow muzzle, and black nose. Their eyes can be blue, amber, or hazel, and their ears are erect. Their teeth meet in a scissors bite. They have a medium-length, hard, straight, and shiny red-brown coat that is short and smooth. The tail is docked to the hock and dewclaws are usually removed. The feet are catlike with tight, arched toes and is either a hare foot or rabbit on front paws and hooves on back.
