Norwich Terrier History
The Norfolk Terrier is a breed of small, square-bodied, short-haired terrier with a beard and moustache. The Norfolk is a sturdy, compact, well-balanced and muscular little dog. The Norfolk will be about 14 to 16 inches at the withers. The coat may be any shade of red, wheat, grizzle, black, liver and tan or silver, with or without white markings. The Norwich had its origin in Norfolk, England, where it was developed as a ratter in the sixteenth century. The popularity of the breed spread to the neighboring counties of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, and from there it spread throughout the United Kingdom and the United States. Norwich Terrier Activity Requirements
Norwich Terriers are small, compact dogs that originated in England. While they are not known for being high-energy, they do enjoy some exercise and can be somewhat mischievous at times. While most Norwich Terriers will get enough exercise just from walking or running around the yard, some may require a bit more. They do enjoy the company of other dogs, so taking your dog for the occasional trip to the dog park or dog-friendly hiking trails is a good way to help burn some extra energy.
