Papichon History
The Papichon is a relatively young hybrid or “designer” crossbreed that was created in the 1990s by breeding a Bichon Frise with a Persian Cat. The Papichon is a cross between a purebred Persian cat and a Bichon. The appearance of the cat inspired the breeders, and they looked for a litter of kittens with similar markings. They found two white kittens that have the same coloration as the Persian. The breeder crossed then with one of the bichon frise and obtained the offspring. The puppies were named “Papi” and “Chon”.

Papichon Temperament and Behaviour
The Papichon is a friendly and happy-natured dog that is sociable with humans and gets along well with children. They are playful and energetic, but are also calm when they want to be. They get along with dogs and other animals, and make good watchdogs.
Papichon Activity Requirements
While the Papichon is a small dog, they are a high-energy, people-oriented breed. They enjoy spending time with their people and playing with other dogs. A daily walk or jog is the best way to meet your Papichon’s exercise needs. They also love to play, so games like tug-of-war and fetch are a great way to keep them happy. While they aren’t the best fit for apartment life, they do do well with people who spend a lot of time at home. A stay-at-home parent, retired person, or someone with a job that allows them to work from home would be a good fit for a Papichon.
