Peke-Italian Temperament and Behaviour
The Peke-Italian is a lively, energetic, and curious little dog that has an endearing personality. They are playful and happy, and love spending time with their families. They are intelligent and like to learn new things, but they can also be stubborn and willful. They have a strong bond with their family, but are also independent, which can make separation anxiety a fairly common problem.
Peke-Italian Activity Requirements
The Peke-Italian is a hardworking, intelligent, and affectionate companion. They were originally bred as watch and guard dogs and are still used as search and rescue dogs today. Because they have such a demanding job, Peke-Italians should be exercised regularly. They need at least one hour of strong, fast-paced activity each day. This could include running or jogging or playing a challenging game. Because of the rigors of their job, Peke-Italians are not recommended for families with young children or inexperienced dog owners. They need a strong leader with plenty of training and socialization.
