Polish Tatra Sheepdog Temperament and Behaviour

The Polish Tatra Sheepdog is a calm, intuitive, and sensitive breed of dog. They are fearless and independent, but also very protective of their families and home. They are often distrusting of strangers, but are very loyal to their owners. They require consistent training and socialization from an early age to remain well-balanced.

Polish Tatra Sheepdog Activity Requirements

Polish Tatra Sheepdogs are beautiful, fluffy dogs with a rough coat. They are sometimes called the Tatra Mountain dog, and they originated in the mountains of Poland. They were bred to be herd dogs and guardians, and are still used for these purposes today. While they are not the most high-energy of breeds, they do require regular exercise. A walk or jog around the backyard once or twice a day is sufficient for most Polish Tatra Sheepdogs. While they don’t require a ton of space, they do need room to play. A fenced yard is ideal for this large, intelligent, and strong-willed breed.
