The Poolky is a small-to-medium-sized, long-haired breed of domestic cat that was developed in 2005 through the crossing of the Oriental Shorthair and the Russian Blue. The breed was developed by a breeder of Persian cats in Ghent, Belgium. The breed standard requires all colors and patterns in the coat, except that of black, to be clearly defined.

Poolkys are a high-energy, intelligent, and obedient breed that was brought to the United States from Hungary after World War II. This rare dog has been gaining popularity in recent years and is quickly becoming a favorite among dog owners. As a herding and hunting dog, the Poolky is a very active and energetic. While they don’t require a ton of physical exercise, they do require a good amount of mental stimulation. Since they are such an intelligent and loyal breed, a bored Poolky is far from happy. They are at their best when they are provided with lots of attention and time with their people.
