The origin of the name is uncertain. The origin of the name “Posvaz” is uncertain. The alternative names “Pereki” and “Fényk” suggest an origin from Perek and Fenik. The “Hunyadi” name indicates a derivation from Hunyad, the name of a county in northern Hungary. The popularity of the Posvaz Hound in Hungary is widespread. The bloodlines are well-defined, and the dogs make excellent hunters. Although the dogs are occasionally used for coursing, they are generally used as companions.

Posavaz Hound Temperament and Behaviour

The Posavaz Hound is a calm, even-tempered, but very energetic and brave working dog. They are extremely protective of their families, and make great guard dogs. They are independent and willful, but are also very loving, which makes them a good choice for families.

Posavaz Hound Activity Requirements

Posavaz Hounds are a relatively small, long-legged hound that is best known as a truffle hunting dog. They are strong, agile, and lean, with pointed ears and a fox-like face. While they are not a particularly high-energy or high-active breed, Posavaz Hounds do require regular exercise. This can be as simple as a daily walk around the neighborhood or a trip to the dog park. If you are looking for a friendly, gentle companion, the Posavaz Hound may be right for you. However, they are not a good choice for very active families. If you are looking for an active and energetic new addition to your family, the Posavaz Hound may not be the best choice.
