Pugshire History
The Pugshire is a special kind of Pug that is primarily used for therapy work in hospitals. The Pugshire was developed by a breeder named Carol Wilson, who crossed a Standard-sized English Bulldog with a Pug. The pug is a very old breed of dog and is believed to have originated in northern China. The pug was originally developed as a fighting dog and was also used as a circus performer. The popularity of the bulldog rose in the 19th century, which prompted breeders to cross their dogs with pugs. The modern-day bulldog descends from this process.

Pugshire Activity Requirements
The Pug is a playful, loving, and loyal companion. They are known as being sociable, happy, and clever. While they are not known to be high-energy, they also don’t spend all of their time lounging on the couch. Most Pugs do require a minimum of 20 minutes of daily exercise and will benefit from more. In addition to walks, a Pug can also be an excellent jogging or hiking partner. They typically enjoy playing games of fetch or tug-of-war, which can also help with exercise. If you live in an apartment or don’t have a large yard, a Pug may not be the best choice for you. While they don’t require a ton of space, they do need more room than the typical apartment dog. If your home has stairs or a slippery floor, a Pug might not be the best choice. They are prone to slipping and falling and aren’t always great on stairs.
