Russkiy Toy History
The Russkiy Toy is a medium-sized, short-coated, and erect-eared toy breed of Russian origin. The breed is descended from the now-extinct Moscow Toy, and bears some similarities to the Pomeranian. The first recorded recognition of the type was in 1991. The FCI recognized the Russkiy Toy in 2006. The FCI now recognizes the Breed Standard of the Moscow Shorthaired and Toys (the predecessor of the Russkiy) as the standard for the Russkiy. The FCI considers the breeding population as stable, but not increasing. There are currently 110 Russkiys in the FCI studbook. The russky has a foxy look, is very active, and loves to run around and play. This energetic little pooch is always happy to please!
Russkiy Toy Physical Characteristics
The Russkiy Toy is a small, medium-to-large-sized dwarf breed of domestic doggy. It resembles a miniature version of the Siberian Husky. They are often confused with the Alaskan Klee Kai, however, this breed is much smaller, about half the size of their American counterpart. They have wedge-shaped heads and erect, triangular ears. They have a small, rounded muzzle, small nostrils, and large eyes that are round or almond shaped. They have a large, flat tail that is carried upright and long legs. Their short, thick, soft coat is white with gray, cream, or pale fawn shading.

Russkiy Toy Activity Requirements
The Russian Toy is a small, compact, and muscular dog that originated in Russia. They are known as the “Clowns of the Canine World” because of their fun-loving, boisterous personalities. While Russian Toys are not very active, they do require regular walks and playtime. They are not well-suited for apartment living, as they will become bored and restless without regular exercise. If you are looking for a small, quiet dog that doesn’t need much exercise, a Russian Toy may not be the best choice. However, if you are looking for a companion who will keep you on your toes, this pup might be the perfect fit.
