The Saarloos wolfdog, also known as a “wolf mongre”, is a canine hybrid between a gray wolf and a domestic dog. It is classified as a Molosser, or spitz-type, dog. Saarloos Wolfdog Physical Characteristics
The Saarloos Wolfdog is an extinct breed of wolf-dog that was originally developed through crossbreeding between wolves and dogs. They were originally used as a hunting dog to protect livestock and as a guard. They stood between 2 and 2.5 feet tall at the shoulder and weighed between 75 and 100 pounds. They had a slender, elongated body and a medium-length tail. They had a bushy, thick, mane on their back and a thick, shaggy coat. The Saarloos Wolfdogs’ eyes were small, round, and almond shaped. They had no natural fear of humans or other animals.

The Saarloos Wolfdog is a calm, confident and independent breed of dog that is usually quiet and calm. They prefer to be the only animal in the home and be kept indoors, but are also known to get along well with children and other household animals. They tend to be wary around strangers.

The Saarloos Wolfdog is a crossbreed of the Siberian Husky and German Shepherd. They are intelligent, loyal, and athletic. They require regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. While their exact level of activity will depend on their size and age, most Saarloos Wolfdogs will need at least one hour of intense activity each day. This can include a run, a swim, or a game of fetch. As a herding dog, the Saarloos Wolfdog is naturally territorial and protective.
