Schweenie History

The Schweenie is a designer hybrid dog created by crossing the Dachshund with a Pomeranian. The Schweenie is referred to as a “designer” or “hybrid” breed because the parent breeds have been deliberately crossed in order to create a new, unique, and desirable type of dog. The Schweenie is relatively new, with its first known appearance on the internet in 2012.

Schweenie Temperament and Behaviour

The Schweenie is a lively, good-natured, and fun-loving breed of dog. They are sociable with their owners and other pets, but can be a bit shy with strangers. They are very intelligent and will quickly learn new tricks. They also love to run and jump, so keeping them active and exercised is important.

Schweenie Activity Requirements

The Miniature Pinscher was bred in Germany as a companion dog, but over the years, they have gained popularity as show dogs and all-around companions. Miniature Pinschers are a high-energy, intelligent, and playful breed. For this reason, they need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A game or two of fetch or a few walks every day will ensure that they don’t get restless or bored. While they are well-suited to apartment living, they do require a fair amount of exercise and interaction with people. They are happy in their homes and definitely do not do well if they are left alone for long periods of time.
