Scobo Terrier History
The Scobōt, also known as an Italian Greyhound, is a breed of small Italian toy dog. The name scobót (plural scoboti) is the Italian diminutive of scoppio, meaning “to jump”. The origin of the name “Italian greyhound” is attributed either to the medieval belief that the greyhound was a cross between the wolf and the jackal, or to the belief that the breed was descended from the ancient Egyptian god, Scebo, who in some legends is depicted as a greyhound.
