Sheltie-Kee History
The Shetland Sheepdog and the Keeshond are two small herding and watchdog breeds. The Keeshond is thought to be the oldest of the herding group, while the Shetland Sheepdog is believed to be one of the oldest of the non-herding group. The two breeds share a number of common origins and characteristics. The Keeshond and the Shetland Sheepdog are both Spitz type dogs that were developed in semi-isolation in the far north of Europe, including parts of Scandinavia, Iceland, and Russia. Both breeds are thought to have been derived from the same primitive ancestral stock and may have diverged into separate lines as early as the 6th century.

Sheltie-Kee Activity Requirements
The Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) is a medium-sized, long-haired dog. Originally a working dog, they are now a popular companion and therapy dog. The Keeshond is a Spitz-type of dog that is known for its intelligence, agility, and outgoing personality. The Sheltie-Kee is a cross between a Sheltie and a Keeshond. Both of these breeds have a moderate energy level and need regular exercise. A daily walk or jog is the perfect way to keep your Sheltie-Kee happy. If you are looking to adopt one of these breeds, be sure you are able to meet their exercise requirements. This is not a high-energy breed, but they can get bored and restless without something to occupy their time.
