The Shiloh Shepherd is a medium-sized, long-haired breed of herding dog that originated in the Appalachian Mountains in the United States. They are also known as American Mountain Dogs. They have a life expectancy of between 12 and 16 years. They typically stand between 19 and 21.5 inches at the withers and weigh between 45 and 60 pounds. The Shiloh Shepherd has a double coat of fur that is medium in length and wavy. They have brown eyes, dark nose, and a dark muzzle. The head is wedge shaped and their ears are erect with pointed tips. The tail is long, flat, and curves upwards. The breed is intelligent, energetic, brave, and observant.
