Siberian Retriever History
The Siberian Husky is a medium to large-sized species of domesticated wolf native to Siberia and the far northern regions of Alaska. The sledding and Arctic racing capabilities of the Siberian Husky has made this a desirable working and sporting dog. The ancestors of the modern Siberian Husky were used for hauling heavy loads in temperatures well below freezing, pulling sledges and carts. They were also used as sled dogs and were specifically developed to pull heavy loads over long distances in very cold climates. The modern day Union or American Kennel Club, Inc (AKC) standard for the Siberian Husky specifies a large, thick-coated, powerfully built, and agile working dog. The coat comes in three colours – white, black, and shades of grey. The preferred colour is sable.

Siberian Retriever Activity Requirements
The Siberian Husky is a powerful, intelligent dog that originates from Siberia. They are known as excellent sled dogs and are still used for racing and pulling today. While they are a high-energy breed, they can adapt well to living in an apartment. A Siberian Husky’s instinct to pull means they need to be kept in an enclosed area. They also require a lot of exercise and can become bored and destructive if left in the yard alone all day. A daily walk, jog, or swim will keep your Siberian Husky happy, healthy, and well-behaved.
