Spanish Hound Temperament and Behaviour

The Spanish Hound is an alert and fearless hunting dog that is loyal to its family and is usually calm, relaxed and gentle. They tend to be trustworthy and reliable, and are generally low maintenance.

Spanish Hound Activity Requirements

Spanish Hounds are a medium to large, lean and energetic breed of dog. They are intelligent and curious, and this makes them great dogs for an active, busy home that is looking for a loyal companion. While they don’t need a ton of exercise, they do need to be able to exert some energy. A daily walk or jog can help your Spanish Hound burn off some of their natural energy. While they can adapt to many living conditions, they do require room to stretch out and run around. If you are interested in a Spanish Hound, be sure you are prepared for their daily walks and playtime. This is not a calm, low-energy breed. They are active, playful, and alert, and they need someone who can keep up with their energy level.
